How directional airflow smooths and aligns hair
Airflow is projected downwards at a 45° angle to create the tension needed to align hair for a smooth end style – with less damage and breakage.3 Dyson’s innovative hair straightener technology also allows you to lock the arms of your Airstrait™ to gently pre-dry roots before styling the ends of the hair from wet.

Intelligent heat control
Extreme heat can damage your hair, so the Dyson Airstrait™ has been engineered with glass bead thermistors inside the machine arms. This technology regulates airflow temperature up to 16/30 times per second to protect hair quality and natural shine. The hair straightener simultaneously maintains healthy hair and achieves salon-quality styles.
Dyson Hyperdymium™ motor
At the heart of Airstrait™ technology is the Dyson Hyperdymium™ motor. Inside the machine is a 13-blade impeller which spins up to 106,000rpm, propelling 11.9 litres of air through the machine per second. This generates up to 3.6kPa of air pressure, powerful enough to straighten hair as it dries.

The ‘90s blow out

Your Dyson Airstrait™ will enter auto-standby after five minutes of inactivity when the arms are left open, or three minutes if the arms are locked. The LCD screen will turn off and you'll need to press the power button to turn the machine back on.
Although the machines are designed for different styling purposes, both utilise hair care technology to minimise heat damage. The Dyson Corrale™ straightener is engineered with manganese copper alloy plates to flex around and gather the hair while heating, creating either sleek, smooth styles or bouncy curls. The Airstrait™ can be used to dry and style hair from wet – simply set the machine to Wet mode and select from a pre-set temperature; thicker hair types may require a higher temperature and airflow. Alternatively, Dry mode – which applies lower airflow – can be used to refresh dry hairstyles.

The Dyson Airstrait™ has been specifically engineered to save on styling time. Here are easy 3 tips for smooth, shiny hair using the Dyson Airstrait™ hair straightener and dryer. 1. Section your hair: Using Dyson hair clips, section your towel-dried hair for easier, more even styling. 2. Simultaneously dry and straighten your hair: Ensuring your machine arms are unlocked, clamp your machine onto your hair, slowly gliding though on section at a time. The slower you move, the smoother the result. 3. Finish with a cold shot: Lock the arms on your machine and finish with a cold shot in ‘drying mode’. Pass over your whole head to lock in your sleek style.
